Dive Christmas Island – The 4th annual Underwater Festival will be held from Saturday the 24th to Friday the 30th of April 2010 on Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean.
For last years results check out the winning photos and videos of the underwater photo shoot-out competition from 2009 in Byron Bay, the most easterly point of the Australian mainland.
There are full archive websites for the 2007, the 2008 and the 2009 festivals.
Who can participate ?
The Underwater Festival is aimed at everyone wanting to experience our marine environment for themselves. Participate – whether you want to learn more about it, dive it, snorkel it, kayak it … or even paint it.
What will happen at UF10?
- Underwater photo & video shootout
5-6 days of diving – as much digital media as you can expose over $30,000 prizes – dive gear – dive trips – photographic gear and more
- introduction to SCUBA – resort dives
blow bubbles for the first time on Christmas Island become inspired
- Marine wildlife and artists presentations
- Dive equipment try-outs from various manufacturers

At this year's Cairns Underwater Festival (to be held at Cairns Civic Centre on Sunday 7th August) a new and exciting addition will be the Cairns Underwater Photo Competition. Tabata Australia & TUSA are proud to be included as one of the supporters of this competition.
Any photographs taken August 2008 - 2010 in North Queensland waters is eligible. There are 4 categories to enter: Macro / Fauna & Flora / Man & the Sea / Young photographer.
In addition there will also be a Jury's award for Best in Show. A major prize will be awarded to the winner of each category.
